Yet, amidst these moments of warmth, we cannot ignore the heartbreaking pleas for help that we are unable to accommodate.
We receive desperate phone calls from pet owners who, despite their love, can no longer provide for their animals. We read emails from compassionate individuals who rescue abandoned or abused animals, seeking refuge for them. To each of these individuals, we are having to say, “I’m deeply sorry, but our current capacity is full.”
