Six years ago, Serenity Farm Virginia opened its gates with a small group of rescued animals and a big dream. A place where animals find safety, and people find peace, healing, and the gentle comfort that comes from simply being with animals.
That dream has grown beyond anything I imagined.
Today Serenity Farm Virginia is home to a horse, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, cats, rabbits, and dogs. Each with a story, each with a name, each known and loved. Our volunteer community has been the heartbeat of this place from the beginning. People who show up week after week, in every season, because they feel what happens here. We are deeply grateful for every one of them.

As Serenity Farm Virginia has grown, so have the demands of running it well. Our volunteers give generously of their time doing everything from daily feeding to barn and cattery cleaning. On those occasions when volunteers are not available, I have been available to fill in. This has worked well over the years until a recent surgery left me with a spinal cord injury and my stepping in is no longer an option.
So we are taking the next natural step in the life of a growing sanctuary: hiring two part-time animal care staff. This has always been part of the long-term plan. Building something sustainable that does not rest on the shoulders of any one person. Paid staff will work alongside our volunteers, ensuring that every animal receives consistent, reliable care every single day.
To make that happen, we need to raise $20,000, which will fund one full year of staffing costs. Once we reach that goal, we will build the team.
If Serenity Farm Virginia has touched your life in any way, if you have visited, followed our animals, or simply believe that places like this matter, we would be grateful for your support.
Sharing this with a friend who loves animals is a gift too. Thank you for helping us grow.
