Sponsor a Kitty and Make a Difference!

At Serenity Farm Virginia, our 13 resident cats have each found a safe and loving home after overcoming their own unique challenges. From Katrina learning to navigate life after losing her closest companion to Bailey rediscovering joy after deep grief, every kitty carries a story of resilience.

By sponsoring a cat for just $20 per month, you directly support their everyday care—nutritious meals, soft bedding, veterinary support, and enrichment activities that keep them happy and healthy. Your sponsorship also helps sustain our mission to provide refuge for animals who need a second chance.

As a sponsor, you’ll receive exclusive access to private visits with your chosen kitty. Whether you enjoy quiet companionship, gentle snuggles, or simply sitting together in a sunny spot, these moments create a meaningful bond. Just send us a message anytime, and we’ll gladly arrange your visit.

Your generosity ensures our cats can thrive—and gives you the opportunity to build a special connection with a furry friend who will truly appreciate it.

Mouse and his brother Opossum joined the sanctuary family in 2024 as newborn kittens. They were discovered in a backyard nest after their mother was frightened away by a weed eater. Despite waiting two days for her return, she never came back. Their kind-hearted rescuer brought them to the sanctuary, where they found safety and care.

Bailey arrived at the sanctuary deeply depressed after the sudden loss of her person. Accustomed to a quiet life as the only pet, she found the bustling activity of the cattery overwhelming. Despite our best efforts to help her adjust, Bailey remained stressed and withdrawn. Finally, we moved her into her own private quarters, and the transformation was remarkable. Within days, Bailey became a different cat, greeting us with purrs, meows, and affectionate leg rubs.

Tao – At just 6 months old, this handsome boy was fending for himself and terrified of people. Early trapping attempts failed, but he eventually found safety in our cattery. For a year, we loved him from afar, giving him space to feel secure. Now, he allows gentle touches and offers slow blinks from across the room. It’s heartwarming to see him relaxed and no longer rushing to hide when we enter, a testament to the power of patience and love.

Little Bear arrived at the sanctuary in 2024 after being found alone on a country road. At just 5 weeks old, he bravely ran to his rescuer and snuggled into her arms. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with Feline Herpesvirus (FHV), leading to ongoing medical challenges. Despite this, Little Bear remains resilient and full of love, greeting every visitor as his new best friend and spreading joy.

Tigger and his brother Pooh found their forever home at the sanctuary in 2023, thanks to a transfer from the Clarke County Animal Shelter. These two charming cats hold a special place in our hearts, as they were the very first residents of our newly built cattery. The cattery was designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment for cats in need, and Pooh and Tigger helped us inaugurate this special space.

Miles came to us from the Clarke County Animal Shelter, where his story was one of resilience. Originally a feral cat, he was surrendered to the shelter and later adopted. However, just a year later, he found himself back at the shelter. Overwhelmed by the noisy environment, Miles became withdrawn and shy, leaving him with little chance of adoption. When we visited and asked for a cat who needed a second chance, Miles became part of our sanctuary family and found his forever home.

Katrina arrived at the sanctuary with her bonded friend, 16-year-old Max, in 2022. She was incredibly attentive to Max, often grooming him and rarely straying far from his side. When Max passed away, Katrina faced a difficult period of adjustment. Over time, she found her footing and began to connect with the other cats. Today, Katrina thrives in the cattery, enjoying the company of her many feline friends.

Bella enjoys observing the cattery’s activities from her favorite perch, where she keeps a watchful eye on everything. Though she has no interest in playing with the younger cats, she closely monitors their playful antics. Bella values her personal space and prefers that other cats respect it, but she is more than happy to snuggle with her favorite humans when the mood strikes.
