A Sanctuary Makeover
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with all of our supporters! Thanks to a remarkable contribution from James K. Wright, Jr., we have added new structures to our sanctuary. These new additions include a three-stall barn with a hay room, a two-stall run-in shed, and a feed/tack shed.
Our beloved special needs goat, Leilah, along with her sister Chocolate, were the first residents to move into the cozy confines of the barn. Following some necessary modifications to ensure comfort and safety, our rabbit family happily settled into the second stall. The third stall was deliberately left vacant, reserved for any future arrivals that may find their way to our sanctuary. However, it didn’t remain empty for long. Just two weeks after the barn’s installation, we welcomed a new friend into our family – Samson. His arrival brings us immense joy and gratitude, knowing that we can provide him with a loving home.
Hay for a Day Club
Now, as we settle into our expanded space, we invite you to join us in filling up our new hay room. You can become a member of our “Hay for a Day Club” by subscribing for just $11 a month, which will cover the cost of one bale of hay each month. As a special token of our appreciation, your name will be proudly displayed on the Hay for a Day Club mural at the entrance of the sanctuary, commemorating your generous support.

Wildlife Habitat Expansion: Spring Initiatives
As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of spring, we’re excited to unveil our ambitious plans for expanding our gardens, trees, bushes, and understory plantings. Our vision is to cultivate a thriving habitat that not only sustains wildlife but also functions as an engaging outdoor classroom for our young visitors. Under the creative guidance of Sheri Cooper, our Children’s Activity Director, we’re crafting an enriching curriculum that encompasses a sensory garden, rain garden, and pollinator garden. Sheri’s innovative approach promises a blend of fun and educational activities designed to captivate young minds. Throughout our programming, children will delve into the intricate world of trees as habitats, explore the fascinating dynamics of insect and bird pollination, and grasp the significance of native plants in fostering biodiversity. With Sheri at the helm, we’re committed to nurturing curiosity and appreciation for the natural world among our young learners.
Join us as we embark on this exciting journey of discovery and stewardship, cultivating a deeper understanding of our environment while fostering a sense of wonder and connection with the wildlife around us.
